WASHINGTON — Election Day 2014 might be 19 months away, but that isn’t stopping U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Orlando, from declaring a victory of sorts.
In a release sent today, Grayson cited the early analysis of political handicappers — from the Rothenberg Political Report to the Cook Political Report — as evidence he would again win big in his heavily Democratic district that includes Osceola County and parts of Orange and Polk.
That Grayson is the early favorite is not a huge surprise, given the make-up of the district and his fundraising prowess — as well as the lack of an opponent so far. But the Democratic firebrand was leaving little to the imagination.
“These rankings should surprise no one,” Grayson said in a release. “The people of District 9 understand that I work hard, pay attention and get things done for everyone. By 2014, that will be even clearer than it is right now.”
